Looking back on the past school year, what do you think God wants to change about you?

Happiness

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. from the US Declaration of Independence.

So our government guarantess everyone the "right" to pursue happiness.

I came across this video depicting the situation we talked about Wednesday Night
(Luke 7:36-50).
Notice how this video focuses almost exclusively on the interaction between the woman and Jesus. When we were talking about this we went deeper into the interaction between Jesus and Simon the Pharisee.

Comare their responses to Jesus.

Did they have anything in common?

How did they respond differently?

What do you think she was thinking? Simon?

I know that I've been in situations where God made it clear what he wanted me to do and yet I didn't do it. It usually involves me humbling myself I've told God I'll do it next time. I've given him all sorts of reasons why I can't (which is more like won't) obey.

Have you ever found yourself trying to negotiate with God on something you know He wants you to do?

It makes me think of me and my kids. I give them very specific instructions on what I want them to do and they will try to either get out of doing it or only doing it halfway.

I often feel frustrated with them when this happens. I tell them I know what's best, but they don't believe me and continue to question my judgement. I wonder if God feels the same way when I question him.
